Emotional Eating

An emotional eater is one who consumes food in response to their feelings instead of hunger. There are a number of triggers that may cause this response.

Here are the top six triggers of emotional eating:

1.) Stress; Anxiety; Feeling of lack of control
2.) Anger
3.) Loneliness
4.) PMS
5.) Sadness; Depression; Hopelessness
6.) Boredom

If you feel that you may be an emotional eater, contact and set up an appointment with the MU Counseling Center. A counselor there can will talk to you about your feelings and help you gain control of your eating.
